Kylie Jenner gave a fan a birthday gift that costs more than a new iPhone

Kylie JennerIt pays to be a Kylie Jenner fan. Johnny Cyrus, a longtime fan with a tattoo sleeve dedicated to Kylie, just received a $2,000 birthday gift from the social media celeb and cosmetics mogul, and we’re a little jealous, TBH.

Johnny turned 21 last week, and Kylie sent him a Louis Vuitton backpack to commemorate the occasion. He posted a pic of it to Instagram, writing: “Thank you @kyliejenner for the amazing birthday gift. It means so much me!” Kylie, of course, liked the photo. The backpack isn’t bad either; in fact, it’s totally amazing and we want one too. Good work, Kylie! You can see Johnny holding the bag alongside Kylie, which means she gave it to him in person when they last saw each other. So sweet!

Kylie and Johnny have been pals for a while; he’s got several Ky-themed tattoos, like lip kit swatches and one of Kylie rolling her eyes. He’s got basically all the merch Kylie has ever released — which is a lot! — and even owns a Greyhound like the star. He most recently came to visit Kylie at her latest pop up in San Francisco and posted a few cute pics of them together on his Insta; you can tell they’re pals and that Kylie really appreciates his support. Clearly, he’s her biggest fan and it shows in more than just his tattoos. P.S. Kylie, my birthday is in November — thanks in advance!

Virgil Abloh is getting his own radio show

The new LV X music on the way.

Everyone knows what Louis Vuitton looks like in 2018, but in case you’ve ever wondered how Louis Vuitton sounds in 2018, your mind could soon be at ease.

Larry Jackson, head of content at Apple Music, posted an Instagram today with none other than LV’s current head of menswear (and very much man of the moment) Virgil Abloh, alluding to a new musical partnership between the two entities.

For those who are either still uninitiated with Beats 1 or simply refuse to pay the extra $10 a month for Apple Music on top of their existing Spotify membership, Beats 1 is essentially a 24/7 radio station that runs weekly shows from some of the biggest heavyweights in music right now. Most bases of modern music are covered – the likes of Frank Ocean, Elton John and Drake’s OVO Sound staple all have their own weekly slots, while Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, Skrillex and Queens of the Stone Age’s Joshua Homme also have shows on the station.

Abloh has a long history with music and DJing. He made a name for himself as a de facto member of the music world during his time collaborating with Kanye West, and despite previously stating that he’d stop DJing for a while to focus on fashion, he regularly performs guest sets at the parties he attends. Most recently, he DJ’d the Met Gala afterparty a couple of weeks ago.

Judging from the Instagram caption, it’s likely that the show will be branded under the Louis Vuitton name, with Abloh overseeing the creative direction of the show. As Abloh himself is yet to confirm, it’s yet to be seen whether or not we’ll see Abloh himself take to the decks each week or have a DJ host the show, similar to the way Drake’s show works.

Black Coffee lands worldwide collab!

Yes, Mr Black Coffee himself has landed a gig with the new artistic director for Louis Vuitton Virgil Abloh. The DJ has actively shown their friendship on his Twitter feed earlier this month, even referring to Virgil as his “bro”. AWWW

 

But the two creative geniuses have decided to collaborate on pop-up parties all around the world (South Africa included) where they will be throwing killer parties as well as spinning the decks side by side. They have said that the aim of these parties is not only to have a good time but to also bring people together from all sides of the earth through good music.

We know these parties are bound to be a success because we all know Black Coffee attracts a big enough crowd when he’s playing by himself, throw someone like Virgil Abloh in the mix and they are set to bring the house down!

Drake’s new single is inspired by Louis Vuitton

drake signs releaseDrake’s new single is inspired by fashion brand Louis Vuitton. The 30-year-old rapper will drop ‘Signs’ at the fashion brand’s Spring/Summer 2018 catwalk show at the Domaine du Palais Royal in Paris, France today (22.06.17).

Sharing the artwork on Instagram, he captioned the post: “New song inspired by @louisvuitton @mrkimjones new collection Drake x LV premieres tmrw produced by @ovo40 (sic)”

If his More Life playlist is anything to go by, fans will be in for a treat with his new track. The compilation of songs broke streaming records on both Apple Music and Spotify.

Within the first 24 hours of being released the project, garnered a whopping 89.9 million streams globally on Apple Music, handing him a new world record for streams in a 24-hour period. On Spotify, the first full day of release for More Life saw it rake in the best first-day streams for any album on the service.

The record gained was 61.3 million global streams, smashing the previous record of 56.7 million, held by Ed Sheeran’s recently released Divide. If that wasn’t enough, the ‘Passionfruit’ hitmaker also beat Ed’s previously held record of the most streamed artist in a single day on Spotify.

Drake managed to gain an impressive 76.4 million streams across all his available music on March 19, beating the ‘Shape of You’ singer’s record of 68.7 million, which he picked up on March 3.

You won’t believe how much Mariah Carey spent on her manager!

The blonde beauty threw a birthday bash for Stella at the Catch LA restaurant in West Hollywood and surprised her manager – who was celebrating her 44th birthday – with a Louis Vuitton trunk to mark the special occasion.

An eyewitness said: “She wheeled it out of the back room and carried sparklers. She was followed by waitresses with more sparklers and Champagne.”

During the celebrations, a string of Mariah’s biggest hits were played for the intimate crowd, which included Stella’s dad.

A source told the New York Post newspaper’s Page Six column: “Stella was all smiles from beginning to end. Her daughters even gave her a Balenciaga bag.”

Mariah’s appearance at the birthday bash came shortly after it was revealed she has split from former backing dancer Bryan Tanaka.

The duo started dating shortly after her relationship with Australian billionaire James Packer collapsed in October 2016.

But it has since been suggested Bryan was simply looking to “increase his profile” and was “freeloading” off the ‘We Belong Together’ hitmaker.

A source previously said: “Tanaka says that he never pays for anything and was freeloading on Mariah and using her for her fame and money to increase his profile.

“He’s always desired to have a music career and was hoping that being with Mariah would help launch his music career. He was hoping to collaborate with her.”

Mariah and Bryan holidayed together in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, in March for the singer’s birthday, but their relationship was already on the rocks at that stage.

An insider explained: “He was posting pictures with her trying to make it look like everything was fine, but it wasn’t.”
