People think Kendall Jenner threw some serious shade at Scott Disick and Sofia Richie

Kendall Jenner

The people of the Internet are always here for a little drama from America’s most famous family – but this news involves a very unexpected member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan: Kendall. The supermodel is not one to cause drama or ‘break the internet’ like her sisters, but that doesn’t mean she won’t stand up for the fam when needed.

After a fan account for Scott Disick posted a photo of him with Sofia Richie and his kids (he has three children with Kourtney Kardashian, for those that live under a rock) Kendall commented on the post saying: “Awww Scott and his kids.”

Of course the internet was quick to pick up on it and label it shade, as this sounds like an obvious hit on Scott and Sofia’s age difference (she is 19-years-old and he is 34).

An insider told Hollywood Life that Sofia is hurt, as she and Kendall used to be really good friends, but hey, family comes first – especially when you’re part of the Kardashians.

“Sofia was really hurt by Kendall’s bitchy comment – they used to be close friends, which makes it all the more upsetting. It’s also hypocritical, because Kendall’s own sister, Kourtney is dating someone 14 years younger than her.”

“And her mom Kris [Jenner, 62] is dating a man 25 years younger! So, yeah, Sofia thinks it was totally out of line for Kendall to be shading her like that. You can’t help who you fall in love with, and Sofia really is in love with Scott, she truly thinks she’s found her soulmate.”

Errrm, kay.

Meghan Markle is reportedly breaking royal tradition in a huge way on her wedding day

Meghan Markle
If there’s one thing Meghan Markle loves breaking, it’s royal protocol. Whether she’s wearing her hair in a messy bun or spending Christmas with Queen Elizabeth II before marrying Prince Harry, Meghan doesn’t take the more ridiculous royal traditions to heart — and that’s a good thing. It shows she’s doing this whole British monarchy thing on her own terms — and in her own way. Which is incredibly refreshing.

Naturally, this attitude is translating to her wedding plans. Meghan will tie the knot with Prince Harry on May 19, 2018, at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, and while details haven’t been confirmed, several rumours about the nuptials sound like quintessential Meghan. For one, there’s the report Meghan wants her mother to walk her down the aisle and not her father, which is against tradition. And now a new report claims Meghan wants to shake her big day up in another way: by giving a speech at the reception.

According to the Sunday Times (via The Independent,) Meghan is planning on saying a few words following her wedding ceremony if her father doesn’t speak for her. (This report also claims Meghan’s father is walking her down the aisle, which contradicts claims she wants her mother for the job. If anything, that proves just to take all of this with a grain of salt.) Meghan apparently wants to give an “affectionate” tribute to the queen, Prince Harry, and her friends and family, which breaks royal traditions.

Meghan acted on Suits for seven seasons, so we’re sure she’ll have no problem giving a speech if this is true. That being said, it’s a little troubling the bride speaking at her wedding reception is “breaking” tradition in some way. Here’s hoping Meghan’s speech ends that archaic rule once and for all.

Musicians are planning their own red carpet protest for the Grammys

Music industry stars will wear white roses to show solidarity for the #TimesUp movement at the 2018 Grammy Awards ceremony on Sunday.

Rita Ora

According to reports, the planned demonstration was put together by Roc Nation senior VP, Meg Harkins, and Karen Rait, rhythm promotion at Interscope/Geffen/A&M records, when they realised that there had been no prior plans made to support the movement against sexual harassment.

Billboard revealed that earlier this week, the two music industry figures called a group of women in the industry together to discuss what to do. They decided on the white rose as it is both practical and acts as a nod to the suffragettes, who wore white in their protests.

Halsey, Rapsody, Kelly Clarkson, Cyndi Lauper, Dua Lipa, Rita Ora, Tom Morello and others will either participate by wearing white roses or have signed on in support of the demonstration as well.

At this year’s Golden Globe awards, many stars wore black in solidarity with victims of sexual harassment or assault following the Harvey Weinstein scandal that shook Hollywood last year.

“It grew like wildfire,” Harkins said of the white rose idea. “It is an important conversation politically in our country and it’s also a conversation we need to have internally with our artists and our companies.

“We need to say if anyone is feeling like they’re being discriminated against and they don’t feel safe in their workplace, they have people who will support them.”

Rait added: “It’s very important that we stay on their message,” referring to the work by film industry figures at last weekend’s Women’s March and Golden Globes.

The 60th annual Grammy Awards take place on Sunday 28 January 2018 at Madison Square Gardens in New York City. See the full list of nominations and performers here.

Jessica Chastain fought to get Octavia Spencer more money for their new movie

Jessica Chastain is one of the most vocal advocates for gender pay equity in Hollywood. Last April the actress revealed exactly how she asks for salary parity for her own projects. Spoiler alert: It’s nothing complicated. She just directly inquires about her pay in comparison to the male costars’. “I don’t care about how much I get paid; I’m in an industry where we’re overcompensated for the work we do,” Jessica told Variety. “But I don’t want to be on a set where I’m doing the same work as someone else and they’re getting five times what I’m getting.”

Now Jessica’s fighting a similar fight for other actresses. News broke last week that Jessica and her costar from The Help, Octavia Spencer, are teaming up for a new holiday comedy. And when the two of them started salary negotiations, they made sure to be on equal-level playing fields.

But Jessica had to learn about the pay disparity between white women and women of colour first, which Octavia brought up to her in a phone conversation. At the Women Breaking Barriers panel at Sundance this year, Octavia recalled the chat she had with Jessica about the subject.

“[Jessica] was like, ‘It’s time that women get paid the same as men. I was like, ‘Yeah, Jessica! It’s time,’” Octavia said. “And then I said, ‘But here’s the thing: Women of colour, on that spectrum, we make far less than white women. So if we’re gonna have that conversation about pay equity, we gotta bring the women of colour to the table. And I told her my story, and we talked numbers, and she was quiet. She had no idea that that’s what it was like for women of colour.”

This encouraged Jessica to take action. “I love [Jessica] because she’s walking the walk and she’s actually talking the talk,” Octavia continued. “She said, ‘Octavia we’re gonna get you paid on this film.’ I said, ‘I would love to do your film, but here’s the thing: I’m gonna have to get paid.’ She said, ‘Of course, and you and I are going to be tied together. We’re gonna be favoured nations, and we’re gonna make the same thing. And you’re gonna make that amount.’ Fast-forward to last week, we’re making five times what we asked for.”

Watch Octavia tell this story for yourself, below. Start around the 19:30 mark:

This is how change is made, to be honest. Of course, having conversations about pay equity is important. We should keep doing that, but it’s important for people who have privilege to take action where they can. Jessica is doing just that, and she’s making Hollywood a better place — for all women.

Kesha’s Performance at the 2018 Grammys will reportedly reflect the #MeToo movement

Kesha made a triumphant return to music last August when she released Rainbow, her first album in five years. The record is significant and powerful for several reasons: Chiefly, it’s her first effort without production credits from Dr Luke, the hit-maker whom she sued for emotional and physical abuse in 2014. This lawsuit put Kesha’s music career in limbo for years; she was still contractually bound to Dr Luke’s label, Kemosabe, but didn’t want to work with him. And while Rainbow was released under Kemosabe — and a judge dismissed several of Kesha’s claims against Dr Luke in April 2016 — it’s still inspiring that Kesha made this record on her terms and her way for the first time ever. She persevered.

Her story feels especially poignant right now, given the shift happening in our culture. Last fall, millions of women used the #MeToo hashtag to share their stories of sexual misconduct; in early January, a group of women in Hollywood launched the Time’s Up movement to end harassment and gender inequality at work. Kesha came forward roughly three years before these movements began. She was standing on her own, but now she has an army rallying behind her.

And her performance at the 2018 Grammy Awards on Sunday (January 28) will reportedly reflect this: Ken Ehrlich, a producer for the Grammys, told Yahoo! that Kesha is performing her ballad ‘Praying’ at this year’s ceremony, and she’s making a big statement with it.

“I can tell you, obviously, that Kesha’s performance is definitely going to reflect what has happened to her in the past couple of years,” Ehrlich said. “‘Praying,’ that is what that song is all about, and that’s what she’s going to perform on the show. We are going to do something a little bit different with it. I think people will come away with the sense that we are supporting or allowing the artist to make a statement.”

If true, Kesha’s performance will no-doubt be one of many statements about #MeToo and Time’s Up made throughout the evening. Awards season this year has been less about glitz and more about raising sexual harassment awareness, which is incredible. The Screen Actors Guild AwardsGolden Globes, and Critics’ Choice Awards were all filled with impactful speeches, and the Grammys should be no exception.

GLAMOUR US has reached out to Kesha’s team for comment on this story and will update when they respond.

Kristen Bell shades Melania Trump and more big moments from the 2018 SAG Awards

Kristen Bell, 2018 SAG Awards

Last night’s Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony perfectly captured an important — and necessary — movement happening in our culture right now. At the beginning of the year, dozens of women in Hollywood started the Time’s Up movement, which is aimed at ending gender imbalance and sexual harassment in the workplace. Days later, some of those same actors (and more) dressed in all black at the Golden Globe Awards to show their solidarity for the movement.

The SAG Awards last night continued that momentum: The show featured all-female presenters, and the traditional “I’m an actor” opener was done by only women. This, mixed with the moving speeches that happened throughout tonight, made the SAGs one of the highlights of awards season thus far. Women’s voices were heard, amplified, and at centre stage.

Here, the biggest moments from the evening:

Host Kristen Bell’s opening monologue

Her speech was equal parts funny and serious. She quipped that The Handmaid’s Tale is a documentary and ended things with an empowering note about Time’s Up. “We are living in a watershed moment,” she said, adding that we need to “march forward with active momentum and open ears.”

Kristen’s subtle Melania Trump shade during her monologue

Kristen is the first person to ever host the SAGs, so she used this as an opportunity to make some “First Lady” jabs. “My first initiative as First Lady will be cyberbullying, because I have yet to see any progress made on that problem quite yet,” Kristen said, a clear knock at Melania’s platform as the First Lady of the United States.

Allison Janney, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Millie Bobby Brown’s “I’m an actor” speeches

Millie‘s was particularly heartfelt and poignant. “To all the young girls: I believe in you. Believe in your dreams. Follow your heart,” she said.

Sam Rockwell voicing his support for Time’s Up during his Best Supporting Actor acceptance speech

“I stand shoulder to shoulder with you and all the incredible women in this room trying to make things better. It’s long overdue,” he said.

Kristen trolling her husband, Dax Shepard, on live television

The camera panned to Kristen and Dax, and Kristen started describing an artist who’s a multi-hyphenated powerhouse and “easy on the eyes.” The implication was that it was Dax, but Kristen immediately cut to the person sitting next to her out of frame: Greta Gerwig.

Nicole Kidman calling out ageism during her acceptance speech for Best Actress in a Miniseries of TV Movie

“How wonderful it is today that our careers can go beyond 40,” she said. “We’ve proven that we are potent and powerful and viable… I just beg that the industry stays behind us, because our stories are finally being told.”

Morgan Freeman calling out the Screen Actors Guild Award trophies for being cisgender men

“From the front, [they’re] gender-specific,” he said during his acceptance speech for his Lifetime Achievement Award.

This Is Us winning Best Ensemble Cast in a Drama Series

The cast’s reactions to when the show was announced were truly priceless.

Kim Kardashian hits out at Lamar Odom after scathing comments about Khloé

There’s nothing quite like the bond between sisters; you mess with one of them, you’ve messed with all of them, and you’re about to be taken down.

Kim Kardashian West

The drama between Khloé Kardashian and Lamar Odom seemed like water under the bridge – but if last night’s drama is anything to go by, it seems that isn’t the case. You may remember a few years ago when Lamar was hospitalised and almost died after he was found unresponsive in a Nevada brothel.

While he recovered, Khloé put their divorce on hold to stand by his side, but it was inevitable that the pair would eventually split. It all seemed amicable between them, that is, until Lamar went to the press and spoke about his relationship with Khloé – and he wasn’t very nice about it.

“I understand when it’s over, it’s over,” Lamar said in a sneak peek video of an appearance on new US show BET’s Mancave. “When she was with her second or third NBA ball player, I can see that.”

Not willing to let her sister be spoken about like that, Kimmy K came to the rescue with this sassy response:

Oooh burn! Of course, Khloé liked it. Khloé herself has yet to say anything, but we bet there’s some ferocious group chatting going on right now.
